Hi friends today most of us are meeting with two very serious problems. First is tension and second one is headache that are caused due to tension and we all want to know magnificent techniques for tension headache relief. So my dear friends before knowing the ways first we have to know what is headache and what causes headaches. And after that we’ll head to tension headache relief or to kill stress headache.

Tension Headache Relief

What is headache and what causes headaches?

In very simple words headache is pain in the head or near parts of our head. There are three kinds of headaches

  1. Primary Headache – Tension, migraine, and cluster headaches causes primary headache.
  2. Secondary Headache – Injury or an underlying illness causes secondary headache. For example, sinus headaches are secondary headaches because of increased pressure or infection in the sinus.
  3. Cranial neuralgias, facial pain, and other headaches

 

Treatment of headache due to tension or ways for tension headache relief

Rest in a dark and quite room – Stress is one of the main causes of headaches and giving rest to the tense muscles will have a very great influence on pain and give relief to tension headache which is the most common headache.

Tea – Tea is a source of caffeine and it is a great weapon for headache relief. It also it helps pain killing drugs like paracetamol to accomplish its mission.

Relax – Take a deep breath and exhale slowly while relaxing your whole body this will have a deep impact and will play a major role in relieving stress. Drop your chin toward your chest, then gently and slowly rotate your head in a half circle from one side to the other.

Mini-Massage – Gently rub the painful spot on your head with your fingertips for several seconds. Rest and repeat as needed.

Tension Headache Relief

Medicine – Over-the-counter drugs acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen sodium can ease headache pain. Drugs that combine acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine may work better for some people than when each is taken alone. But using any headache medicine for more than three days a week may cause medication overuse headaches. See your doctor if you need medication this often.

When to call a doctor?

See your doctor if your headaches are frequent or last more than a few days. If your headache occurs after a head injury or if it lasts for more than a few days or is very painful then you should get immediate medical help. If there is health along with fever, stiff neck, seizures, numbness, double vision, dizziness, severe nausea, shortness of breath, or confusion then its important to consult a doctor.
